A Páscoa foi a celebração estabelecida para os judeus antes da última das dez pragas a cair sobre o Egito. Naquela ocasião cada família sacrificou um cordeiro e passou o seu sangue na porta. O anjo do Senhor passou trazendo a morte dos primogênitos e, as casas que estavam marcadas com o sangue eram poupadas, significava que um cordeiro já havia sido sacrificado, portanto o anjo passou por cima destas. Páscoa significa “passar por cima”.
Hoje, quando Deus olha para a humanidade vê duas classes de pessoas. Os pecadores salvos que creram em Cristo e estão assinalados pelo sangue de Jesus – o último cordeiro – e, aqueles que ainda estão sujeitos ao juízo dos pecadores que não foram salvos.
Os israelitas naquela noite das pragas só tinham uma maneira de se livrar do juízo que estava sobre eles, o sangue do cordeiro. Hoje nós só temos um meio de salvação, o sangue do último cordeiro que é Cristo. Quando Deus olha para você o que Ele vê, seus pecados ou o sangue do cordeiro?

What Does Easter Mean?
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’” – John 1:29
Passover (Easter) was the celebration established for the Jews before the last of the ten plagues fell upon Egypt. On that occasion, each family sacrificed a lamb and applied its blood to the doorposts. The Angel of the Lord passed through, bringing death to the firstborn, and the houses marked with blood were spared. It meant a lamb had already been sacrificed; therefore, the angel “passed over” them. Passover means “to pass over.”
Today, when God looks at humanity, He sees two classes of people: saved sinners who believed in Christ and are marked by the blood of Jesus—the ultimate Lamb—and those who are still subject to the judgment of unsaved sinners.
The Israelites on that night of the plagues had only one way to escape the judgment upon them: the blood of the lamb. Today, we have only one means of salvation: the blood of the final Lamb, which is Christ. When God looks at you, what does He see: your sins or the blood of the Lamb?
