“… Digno é o trabalhador do seu salário.”
Todo aquele que trabalha é digno e merecedor de seu pagamento. Isso inclui os pastores e líderes religiosos que devotam suas vidas ao sacerdócio; que se dedicam 100% a igreja e não possuem nenhuma outra fonte de renda para se sustentarem. Sim, estes são realmente dignos de serem sustentados pela igreja.
Quem serve a Deus depende de Deus. A partir do momento que alguém decide trabalhar na obra do Senhor, os recursos devem vir do Senhor. Se isso não acontecer a pessoa deve se questionar se o seu “chamado” foi real, uma vez que Deus não está suprindo como deveria. Precisa verificar também, se o pecado pode estar causando separação entre o trabalhador e o provedor deste sustento.
Também pode ocorrer que Deus queira que a pessoa trabalhe na obra e também, faça algo para se sustentar, como o Apóstolo Paulo, que fazia tendas e as vendia para não ser pesado à igreja. Lembre-se, é Deus que sustenta a sua obra, o dono do ouro e da prata traz a provisão para a continuidade da pregação do evangelho no mundo, o que não pode ocorrer é o abuso, sustento não é riqueza.

Can a Pastor Receive Salary?
We read in the bible in 1st Timothy 5:18
“… Worthy is the worker of his wages.”
Everyone who works is worthy and deserving of his pay. This includes pastors and religious leaders who devote their lives to the priesthood; who are 100% dedicated to the church and have no other source of income to support themselves. Yes, these are really worthy of being supported by the church.
Whoever serves God depends on God. From the moment someone decides to work in the Lord’s work, resources must come from the Lord. If this does not happen, the person must question whether his “call” was real, since God is not supplying as he should. You also need to check if sin may be causing separation between the worker and the provider of this sustenance.
It can also happen that God wants the person to work in the work and also, do something to support himself, like the Apostle Paul, who made tents and sold them so as not to be a burden to the church.
