Sim, religião e política podem andar juntas, mas há uma fina camada de separação entre as duas que, quando se rompe a corrupção entra. Precisamos entender que não pertencemos a este mundo. Somos seres criados para a eternidade e, estamos aqui somente de passagem. Nossa cidadania é celestial.
É claro que isso não significa que temos que ignorar nossas leis e direitos desta vida. Podemos e devemos exercer nossa cidadania terrena enquanto estivermos aqui. O fato é que, quando nos envolvemos com as coisas desta vida mais do que com as coisas de Deus, com o tempo, ficaremos expostos a nossas paixões e desejos e podemos cair em tentação.
Na política, o apelo para o pecado é constante e intenso. As propostas de fechar os olhos para uma ilegalidade; deixar passar uma lei que vai prejudicar a população e trazer benefício para um pequeno grupo; viver em meio a ganância, luxúria e corrupção, fará que suas defesas sejam minadas e, aos poucos, sua mente vá cedendo ao pecado. Pense nisso!

Can Religion and Politics Go Together?
We read in the bible in 2nd Corinthians 6:14
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers; because, what society has justice with injustice? And what communion has light with darkness?”
Yes, religion and politics can go together, but there is a thin layer of separation between the two that, when broken down, corruption enters. We need to understand that we don’t belong in this world. We are beings created for eternity, and we are only passing through. Our citizenship is heavenly.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to ignore our laws and rights in this life. We can and must exercise our earthly citizenship while we are here. The fact is, when we get involved with the things of this life more than the things of God, in time we will be exposed to our passions and desires and we can fall into temptation.
In politics, the appeal to sin is constant and intense. The proposals turn a blind eye to an illegality; to let pass a law that will harm the population and bring benefit to a small group; living in the midst of greed, lust and corruption will cause your defenses to be undermined and, little by little, your mind will give in to sin. Think about it!
