“E todos foram cheios do Espírito Santo, e começaram a falar em outras línguas, … Como, pois, os ouvimos, cada um, na nossa própria língua em que somos nascidos?”. – Atos 2:4-8
A bíblia nos fala de dois tipos de línguas. O primeiro tipo vemos no capítulo 2 do livro de Atos, que relata o Pentecostes. Um avivamento onde o evangelho foi pregado em pelo menos 15 línguas diferentes – Línguas Humanas. Isso ocorreu em cumprimento da Profecia de Joel capítulo 2.
Outro tipo de língua é mostrado em 1ª Coríntios 14:2 “Porque o que fala em língua não fala aos homens, senão a Deus; pois ninguém o entende, e em espírito fala mistérios.”. Aqui Paulo fala de um tipo de oração que não é feita em línguas humanas. Essa oração também não é dirigida às pessoas, mas diretamente a Deus.
Trata-se de uma forma de oração “espiritual”, onde quem fala não está transmitindo uma mensagem a homens, mas somente a Deus. Por isso Paulo afirma que “fala mistérios”, coisas que só Deus entende. Portanto não é língua de anjos e nem de homens porque anjos ou homens não compreendem, somente Deus.
Em relação a Igreja e línguas humanas, Paulo alerta como isso deve ser feito em 1ª Coríntios 14:26-28 “Que fareis pois, irmãos? … se alguém falar em língua desconhecida, faça-se isso por dois, ou quando muito três, e por sua vez, e haja intérprete. Mas, se não houver intérprete, esteja calado na igreja, e fale consigo mesmo, e com Deus.”.
Portanto, dentro da igreja, deve haver interpretação para que todos compreendam a mensagem e sejam edificados. Isso mostra que o falar em línguas humanas tem um papel coletivo, desde que interpretado. Sem interpretação, é uma oração pessoal entre a pessoa e Deus.
Finalizo com o versículo de 1ª Coríntios 14:14 “Porque, se eu orar em língua, o meu espírito ora bem, mas o meu entendimento fica sem fruto.”.

What Languages Are These That I Pray and Only God Interprets?
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, … And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?” – Acts 2:4-8
The Bible speaks of two types of tongues. The first type we see in Acts chapter 2, which recounts Pentecost. A revival where the gospel was preached in at least 15 different languages – Human Languages. This occurred in fulfillment of the prophecy of Joel chapter 2.
Another type of tongue is shown in 1 Corinthians 14:2: “For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.” Here Paul speaks of a type of prayer that is not made in human languages. This prayer is not directed to people but directly to God.
It is a form of “spiritual” prayer, where the one speaking is not transmitting a message to men, but only to God. That is why Paul says they “speak mysteries,” things that only God understands. Therefore, it is not a language of angels nor of men, because neither angels nor men comprehend it—only God.
Regarding the Church and human languages, Paul warns how this should be done in 1 Corinthians 14:26-28: “What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? … If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.”
Therefore, within the church, there must be interpretation so that everyone may understand the message and be edified. This shows that speaking in human tongues has a collective role, provided it is interpreted. Without interpretation, it is a personal prayer between the person and God.
I close with 1 Corinthians 14:14: “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.”
