Can I Command Something from the Holy Spirit of God?
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” – John 3:8
The Bible makes it clear that the Holy Spirit is sovereign and acts according to the will of God. We have no control over Him, and therefore we cannot “command” what the Spirit should do. God is not the servant of man; rather, we are called to obey His voice. See what James 4:15 says: “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” True faith is not about imposing orders on God, but about trusting and obeying Him.

When someone says they will “command” something from the Holy Spirit, they run the risk of reversing the biblical order, placing man at the center and God as the fulfiller of human decrees. The Bible instructs us to be humble before the Lord, remembering that He is the Creator and we are His creatures.
