Pentecostes foi o cumprimento de uma profecia contida em Joel 2:28-31. Essa profecia se cumpriu em Atos 2, foi vista novamente em Atos 8 e em Atos 10. Naquele momento a igreja estava sendo inaugurada e a profecia cumprida.
Hoje não vemos mais milagres e maravilhas como naquele tempo porque isso foi necessário no contexto da inauguração da igreja com os apóstolos no primeiro século.
Ainda podemos ver a ação do Espírito Santo de Deus, porém de maneira mais pontual, ou seja, servindo a um propósito específico, diferente do que ocorre hoje em muitas igrejas pentecostais. Como diz em 2ª Coríntios 5:7 “Porque andamos por fé, e não por vista.”.

Why Don’t We See Baptism Like at Pentecost Anymore?
“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” – Acts 2:4
Pentecost was the fulfillment of a prophecy found in Joel 2:28–31. This prophecy was fulfilled in Acts 2, and it was seen again in Acts 8 and Acts 10. At that moment, the church was being inaugurated, and the prophecy was coming to pass.
Today, we no longer see miracles and wonders in the same way because they were necessary in the context of the church’s beginning with the apostles in the first century.
We can still witness the work of the Holy Spirit today, but in a more specific way, serving particular purposes—different from what happens in many Pentecostal churches nowadays. As it says in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
