Lemos na bíblia em Êxodo 20:3-5
“Não terás outros deuses diante de mim. Não farás para ti imagem de escultura, nem alguma semelhança do que há em cima nos céus, nem em baixo na terra, nem nas águas debaixo da terra. Não te encurvarás a elas nem as servirás,”
Fazer imagens e ter ídolos de adoração é contra os mandamentos de Deus, simples assim.
Um dia eu ouvi um argumento de um padre dizendo que ter a foto da esposa na carteira é uma imagem e não é pecado, não tem problema, porém o debatedor ao lado dele disse que ter a foto, realmente não é problema, mas se curvar a foto e pedir algo a alguma imagem ou foto era sim pecado de idolatria. Quando pedimos a algo ou alguém aquilo que apenas a Deus deveríamos pedir, estamos imediatamente pecando contra Deus.
Ocorre que algumas pessoas têm dúvidas pois num determinado momento Deus manda fazer uma imagem de serpente com vistas a curar o povo enfermo. Quando Moisés subiu ao monte para falar com Deus e demorou 40 dias, o povo construiu um bezerro de ouro e começou a adorá-lo contra a vontade de Deus. A ira de Deus (naturalmente) foi ativada contra o povo que mergulhou na idolatria e os feriu com serpentes venenosas no deserto.

Após o episódio do Bezerro de Ouro Deus utilizou o mesmo procedimento “imagem de serpente” para projetar a cura, pois sabia que os homens iriam olhar para a imagem e dar valor para ela, uma vez que seus corações já estavam mergulhados na idolatria.
Neste caso em especial Deus sabia que eles só enxergariam outro ídolo e teve misericórdia deles quando pediu para produzir a serpente com o intuito de salvá-los. Porém esse caso foi único e pontual, não podemos nos esquecer do mandamento que lemos no início deste artigo.

What does the Bible say about Images and Idolatry?
We read in the bible in Exodus 20: 3-5
“You will have no other gods before me. You shall not make a sculpture image for yourself, nor any resemblance to what is above in the heavens, or below on earth, or in the waters beneath the earth. You will not bow down to them or serve them, ”
Making images and having worship idols is against God’s commandments, as simple as that.
One day I heard an argument from a priest saying that having his wife’s photo in his wallet is an image and it is not a sin, no problem, but the debater next to him said that having the photo is really not a problem, but bowing down the photo and asking for something from an image or photo was indeed a sin of idolatry. When we ask something or someone for what only God should ask, we are immediately sinning against God.
It happens that some people have doubts because at a certain moment God orders to make an image of a snake with a view to healing the sick people. When Moses went up the mountain to speak to God and took 40 days, the people built a golden calf and began to worship him against God’s will. God’s wrath (of course) was activated against the people who plunged into idolatry and wounded them with poisonous snakes in the desert.
Moses prayed and asked God for the people.
After the Golden Calf episode, God used the same “snake image” procedure to design the cure, as he knew that men would look at the image and value it, since their hearts were already immersed in idolatry.
In this particular case God knew that they would only see another idol and he had mercy on them when he asked to produce the serpent in order to save them. However, this case was unique and punctual, we cannot forget the commandment we read at the beginning of this article.

Shèngjīng duì tú xiàng hé ǒuxiàng chóngbài zěnme shuō?

Dāng wǒmen xiàng mǒu rén huò mǒu rén tíchū jǐn shén suǒyào wèn de wèntí shí, wǒmen lìjí fànzuì yú shén.
Pèngqiǎo yǒuxiē rén duì cǐ biǎoshì huáiyí, yīnwèi zài mǒu gè shíkè, shàngdì xiàlìng duì shé jìnxíng sù xiàng, yǐ zhìyù bìngrén. Móxī shàngshān xiàng shàngdì shuōhuà bìng huāle 40 tiān shí, bǎixìng xīngqǐle yī zhī jīn niúdú, bìng kāishǐ wéibèi shàngdì de zhǐyì xiàng tā jìng bài. Shàngdì de fènnù (dāngrán) jī qǐle nàxiē xiànrù ǒuxiàng chóngbài bìng zài shāmò zhōng yòng dúshé shānghài tāmen de rénmen.
Móxī qídǎo bìng xiàng shàngdì qíqiú bǎixìng.
Jīn niúdú fāzuò hòu, shàngdì shǐyòng xiāngtóng de “shé xíng tú xiàng” chéngxù shèjì zhìliáo fāngfǎ, yīnwèi tā zhīdào ren men huì kànzhe tú xiàng bìng zhòngshì tā, yīnwèi tāmen de xīn yǐjīng chénjìn zài ǒuxiàng chóngbài zhōng.
Zài zhè zhǒng tèshū qíngkuàng xià, shàngdì zhīdào tāmen zhǐ huì kàn dào lìng yīgè ǒuxiàng, dāng tā yāoqiú shēngchǎn shé yǐ zhěngjiù tāmen shí, tā liánmǐn tāmen. Dànshì, zhè zhǒng qíngkuàng shì dútè qiě shǒu shí de, wǒmen bùnéng wàngjì wǒmen zài běnwén kāitóu yuèdú de jiè mìng.

Wǒmen kěyǐ suíshí jìnrù shén de tóng zài, ér wèntí shì: Nín zhǔnbèi hǎole ma? Nín shìfǒu xiāngxìn jīdū shì nín wéiyī hè chōngfèn de jiùshìzhǔ? Yīnwèi zhè yīdìng shì nín zuìdà de dānyōu.
