Do Muslims Convert Through Visions of Jesus?
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.” – Acts 2:17
In many parts of the Islamic world, many Muslims have reported dreams and visions of Jesus, in which He presents Himself as the Way and the Truth. God can use dreams and visions to reveal Himself to people, especially in places where the gospel cannot be freely preached. See what is written in Job 33:14–15: “For God speaks in one way, and in another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds.”
These experiences do not replace the Word of God. Dreams and visions serve as an initial call, awakening the heart to seek the truth. Genuine conversion happens when a person hears and believes the gospel of Christ. See the verses below:
- Romans 10:17: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
- John 5:24: “… whoever hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life, and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from death into life.”
Finally, this phenomenon shows that God is acting sovereignly to reach peoples where the name of Jesus is rejected or unknown. See what is written in John 10:16: “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.” God continues to call people to Himself, and no one can stop His work.
