Tentar se afastar da luta espiritual, imaginando viver em paz, é um engano. O inimigo age justamente onde há descuido e falta de vigilância. Não lutar não significa estar seguro, mas estar vulnerável. Veja o que diz em 1ª Pedro 5:8 “Sede sóbrios, vigiai; porque o diabo, vosso adversário, anda em derredor, como leão que ruge, buscando a quem possa tragar.”.
Deus não chama seus filhos para lutar sozinhos. Ele oferece armas espirituais. Participar dessa guerra é um chamado para viver guardado e fortalecido em Deus. Veja o que diz em Tiago 4:7 “Sujeitai-vos, pois, a Deus; resisti ao diabo, e ele fugirá de vós.”.

What if I Decide Not to Participate in This Spiritual Warfare?
“Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” – Luke 11:23
There is no neutrality. Jesus makes it clear that failing to choose a side is, in practice, a choice in itself. Those who decide not to take a stand for Christ end up being influenced by contrary forces that have been active in the world since the beginning of time. Look at what Ephesians 6:12 says: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
Trying to distance yourself from the spiritual struggle, imagining you can live in peace, is a delusion. The enemy acts precisely where there is carelessness and a lack of vigilance. Not fighting does not mean being safe; it means being vulnerable. Look at what 1 Peter 5:8 says: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
God does not call His children to fight alone. He offers spiritual weapons. Participating in this war is a calling to live protected and strengthened in God. Look at what James 4:7 says: “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Therefore, practice what we see in 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “Pray without ceasing.”
