Cristo, na bíblia, é o único com autoridade para REPREENDER os demônios. Veja abaixo alguns exemplos:
- Marcos 1:25 — “Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: Cala-te e sai dele.”
- Lucas 4:35 — “Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: Cala-te e sai dele.”
- Mateus 17:18 — “E Jesus repreendeu o demônio, que saiu do menino.”
Quanto a EXPULSAR demônios, Jesus deu aos cristãos esta autoridade em Seu nome. Veja o que diz em Marcos 16:17 “E estes sinais seguirão aos que crerem: Em meu nome expulsarão os demônios; falarão novas línguas.”.
Os demônios são expulsos em nome de Jesus por quem tem autoridade para fazer isso. Para ter esta autoridade precisa ser cristão verdadeiro senão pode acontecer o que houve no relato que vemos em Atos 19:13–15 “E alguns judeus exorcistas ambulantes tentaram invocar o nome do Senhor Jesus sobre os que tinham espíritos malignos… Mas o espírito maligno respondeu: Conheço a Jesus e sei quem é Paulo; mas vós, quem sois?”.
Portanto, o cristão verdadeiro tem a autoridade de EXPULSAR demônios em nome de Jesus mas, somente Cristo pode REPREENDER um espírito maligno.

Should I Rebuke or Cast Out a Demon?
“…Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, ‘In the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her.’ And it came out that very hour.” – Acts 16:18
Christ, in the Bible, is the only one with authority to rebuke demons. See some examples below:
- Mark 1:25 — “Jesus rebuked him, saying, ‘Be quiet, and come out of him.’”
- Luke 4:35 — “Jesus rebuked him, saying, ‘Be quiet, and come out of him.’”
- Matthew 17:18 — “And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy.”
As for casting out demons, Jesus gave this authority to Christians in His name. See what Mark 16:17 says: “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.”
Demons are cast out in the name of Jesus by those who have authority to do so. To have this authority, one must be a true Christian; otherwise, what happened in Acts 19:13–15 may occur: “Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits… But the evil spirit answered, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?’”
Therefore, a true Christian has the authority to cast out demons in the name of Jesus, but only Christ has the authority to rebuke an evil spirit.
