O amor e a justiça de Deus caminham juntas em perfeita harmonia. Veja que Deus provou seu amor pela humanidade como vemos em João 3:16 “Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira que deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo aquele que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.”.
No mesmo sentido o mesmo Deus que ama tem que ser justo como vemos em 2ª Timóteo 4:1 “Conjuro-te, pois, diante de Deus, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, que há de julgar os vivos e os mortos, na sua vinda e no seu reino, …”.
Para compreender melhor, se o seu pai fosse um policial ele teria de combater o crime com rigor quando estivesse na rua. Mas ao chegar em casa e tirar a farda ele pegaria você no colo e seria um pai amoroso. Assim é o Senhor em diferentes ocasiões.
Vemos, no Antigo Testamento, Deus – muitas vezes – implacável, limpando a terra da iniquidade e, logo após compassivo, resgatando o seu povo da servidão. no Novo Testamento vemos Cristo como o amigo amoroso confortando os que são seus e, em outro momento, destruindo as barracas dos que vendiam dentro do templo.
Deus é o mesmo sempre!
Jesus voltará – em breve – como o justo Juiz. Aqueles que não creram em Cristo como Salvador irão conhecê-lo aplicando todo o rigor da Lei aos que perecem. Aqueles que creram, iniciarão o primeiro dia da eternidade com o Senhor no paraíso para todo o sempre!

How Can God Be a Loving Father and a Judge Who Condemns?
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
The love and justice of God walk together in perfect harmony. God proved His love for humanity, as we see in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
At the same time, the same God who loves must also be just, as we read in 2 Timothy 4:1: “I charge you, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom…”
To understand this better, imagine that your father is a police officer. While on duty, he must fight crime with rigor. But when he comes home and takes off his uniform, he holds you in his arms and behaves as a loving father. In the same way, the Lord acts differently according to the occasion.
In the Old Testament, we often see God acting firmly, cleansing the earth of iniquity, and then being compassionate, rescuing His people from bondage. In the New Testament, we see Christ as the loving friend who comforts His own, and in another moment, overturning the tables of those who were selling inside the temple.
God is always the same!
Jesus will return—soon—as the righteous Judge. Those who did not believe in Christ as Savior will meet Him applying the full rigor of the Law upon those who perish. Those who believed will begin the first day of eternity with the Lord in paradise forever!
