Mesmo em tempos de guerra, o princípio maior da Bíblia continua sendo o amor. Deus nos chama a amá-Lo acima de tudo, a amar o próximo e até mesmo o inimigo, o que significa não agir movido por ódio, vingança ou crueldade. O amor busca o bem, mesmo em situações difíceis. Mateus 5:44 “Eu, porém, vos digo: Amai a vossos inimigos, bendizei os que vos maldizem, fazei bem aos que vos odeiam e orai pelos que vos maltratam e vos perseguem. Para que sejais filhos do vosso Pai que está nos céus.”.
Ao mesmo tempo, a Bíblia reconhece o valor da vida e o direito de protegê-la. Vamos vivenciar situações extremas em que a defesa da própria vida ou da vida de inocentes se torna necessária. O objetivo não é destruir por prazer, mas preservar a vida e conter o mal. Vivemos momentos difíceis e Cristo nos preparou para isso como vemos em Mateus 10:34 “Não cuideis que vim trazer a paz à terra; não vim trazer paz, mas espada;”.

What Should We Do in Times of War?
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven… a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8
Even in times of war, the greatest principle of the Bible remains love. God calls us to love Him above all else, to love our neighbor, and even our enemy, which means not acting out of hatred, revenge, or cruelty. Love seeks the good, even in difficult situations. Matthew 5:44: “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.”
