“…o reino dos céus é tomado por esforço, e os que se esforçam se apoderam dele.” – Mateus 11:12
Não devemos confundir o Reino dos Céus com Salvação. A Bíblia afirma claramente que a salvação é um presente de Deus, não algo conquistado por mérito humano. A prova disso está em Efésios 2:8-9 “Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé; e isto não vem de vós, é dom de Deus. Não vem das obras, para que ninguém se glorie;”.
Quanto ao Reino dos Céus, depois de salvos, somos chamados a viver de forma ativa e comprometida com o Reino aqui na terra. Esse é o esforço de que Jesus fala: a dedicação diária de quem foi transformado pela graça. Por isso Jesus disse em Mateus 16:24 “Se alguém quer vir após mim, negue-se a si mesmo, tome a sua cruz e siga-me”.
O trabalho no Reino exige empenho nosso. A Bíblia mostra que até esse empenho é sustentado pelo próprio Senhor, como afirma Filipenses 2:13 “pois é Deus quem efetua em vocês tanto o querer quanto o realizar”. Somos salvos pela graça, e por causa dessa graça colocamos esforço, fé e fidelidade em nossa caminhada. A salvação é dom; o esforço é resposta.

Is the Kingdom of Heaven Taken by Force or Does It Come from God?
“…the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” – Matthew 11:12
We must not confuse the Kingdom of Heaven with Salvation. The Bible clearly states that salvation is a gift from God, not something earned by human merit. Proof of this is found in Ephesians 2:8–9: “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.”
As for the Kingdom of Heaven, after being saved, we are called to live actively and with commitment to the Kingdom here on earth. This is the effort Jesus speaks of: the daily dedication of someone transformed by grace. That is why Jesus said in Matthew 16:24: “If anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”
Work in the Kingdom requires our effort. The Bible shows that even this effort is sustained by the Lord Himself, as stated in Philippians 2:13: “for it is God who works in you both to will and to act according to His good purpose.” We are saved by grace, and because of that grace we invest effort, faith, and faithfulness in our walk. Salvation is a gift; effort is our response.
