O céu será a morada final de todos os que pertencem a Cristo. A Bíblia ensina que, para os salvos, existe um lugar preparado diretamente pelo Senhor. Jesus diz o seguinte em João 14:2 “Na casa de meu Pai há muitas moradas… vou preparar-vos lugar”. Esse é o destino definitivo da Igreja, composta por todos os cristãos de todas as nações. A Bíblia também revela que haverá um reino futuro aqui na Terra, conhecido como o Reino Milenial. Esse reino é uma promessa feita ao povo judeu, onde Cristo reinará fisicamente por mil anos. Veja o que diz em Apocalipse 20:4 “E viveram e reinaram com Cristo durante mil anos”. Será um tempo de paz, justiça e restauração, onde as promessas feitas a Israel se cumprirão literalmente. A Igreja, porém, não tem sua esperança final na Terra, mas participa desse reino de forma celestial, reinando com Cristo.
Depois do Milênio, a Bíblia deixa claro que a eternidade se estabelece de forma definitiva nos novos céus e na nova terra. É nesse momento que Deus faz tudo novo e a eternidade final começa para todos os salvos. Will Heaven Be Our Final Home? And the Millennial Kingdom?
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 3:20
Heaven will be the final home of all who belong to Christ. The Bible teaches that, for the saved, there is a place prepared directly by the Lord. Jesus said in John 14:2, “In My Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” This is the ultimate destination of the Church, composed of believers from all nations. In heaven we will be forever with the Lord, free from pain, suffering, and death.
The Bible also reveals that there will be a future kingdom on Earth, known as the Millennial Kingdom. This kingdom is a promise made to the Jewish people, where Christ will reign physically for one thousand years. Revelation 20:4 says, “They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” It will be a time of peace, justice, and restoration, where the promises made to Israel will be fulfilled literally. The Church, however, does not have its final hope on Earth, but participates in this kingdom in a heavenly way, reigning with Christ.
After the Millennium, the Bible makes clear that eternity is fully established with the new heavens and the new earth. At that moment, God makes everything new, and the final eternal state begins for all the redeemed. Revelation 21:1–2 declares, “I saw a new heaven and a new earth… and the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.”
