If I Am Saved, Why Should I Worry About Danger?
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” – 1 Corinthians 10:12
Many people think that after accepting Christ, there is no longer any need to worry about temptations or evil. However, the Bible warns us to be watchful. As 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Even though we are saved, we still live in this world and face temptations and spiritual attacks. Therefore, we must remain in prayer and stand firm in faith.
In addition, the apostle Paul teaches us in Philippians 2:12, “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” This does not mean we need to earn salvation again, but that we should live in a way that is worthy of it—with humility and obedience to God. Salvation is the beginning of a journey with the Lord, and the danger lies in becoming complacent, letting our faith weaken, and allowing sin to steal our fellowship with Him.
However, even in the face of danger, the true Christian can rest assured that their salvation is secure in Christ. Jesus promised in John 10:29, “My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” He also said in John 6:37, “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” In other words, those who truly belong to Jesus are safely held in His hands. Therefore, we must watch and pray—not out of fear of losing salvation, but out of love and gratitude to the One who saved us.
