“Assim resplandeça a vossa luz diante dos homens, para que vejam as vossas boas obras e glorifiquem a vosso Pai, que está nos céus.” – Mateus 5:16
Vejamos o exemplo do Profeta Daniel que, após interpretar o sonho do rei Nabucodonosor, foi posto como administrador de um dos maiores reinos que já existiu. Daniel 2:48 “… e o pôs por governador de toda a província da Babilônia, como também por chefe supremo de todos os sábios da Babilônia.”.
Algum tempo depois, quando o rei Dario assumiu o império e o reorganizou, elevou Daniel como um dos três presidentes que administravam 120 cidades/províncias. Daniel 6:1-2 “E pareceu bem a Dario constituir sobre o reino a cento e vinte príncipes, que estivessem sobre todo o reino; e sobre eles três presidentes, dos quais Daniel era um…”.
Daniel tinha um trabalho extremamente difícil de administrar todo o império e ainda assim se manteve fiel encontrando tempo para se dedicar a Deus diariamente. Daniel 6:10 “Daniel, pois, quando soube que a escritura estava assinada… três vezes no dia, se punha de joelhos, e orava, e dava graças diante do seu Deus”. Aprendo que é possível ter sucesso no trabalho, nos estudos e nas tarefas diárias, sem deixar de lado a comunhão com Deus.
Veja o que diz em Colossenses 3:17 “E tudo quanto fizerdes por palavras ou por obras, fazei-o em nome do Senhor Jesus”. Quando entendemos que até nossas atividades comuns podem glorificar a Deus, não há mais divisão entre vida dentro e fora da igreja. Somos testemunhas vivas de Cristo em cada atitude.
Sabemos que o mundo pressiona para que deixemos de lado a fé, mas a Bíblia orienta em 1ª Coríntios 15:58 “Sede firmes e constantes, sempre abundantes na obra do Senhor, sabendo que o vosso trabalho não é vão no Senhor”. Assim como Daniel, podemos enfrentar momentos de crise e até perseguição, mas Deus é fiel e poderoso para nos guardar. A orientação é: mantenha sua vida de oração e leitura diária da Bíblia, e o alerta é: não se deixe moldar pelas pressões externas. Há esperança, pois o Senhor honra aqueles que permanecem firmes n’Ele.

How to Reconcile Life Inside and Outside the Church?
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
Let us look at the example of the Prophet Daniel who, after interpreting King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, was appointed as administrator of one of the greatest kingdoms that ever existed. Daniel 2:48 “… and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon.”
Some time later, when King Darius took over the empire and reorganized it, he elevated Daniel as one of the three presidents who administered 120 provinces. Daniel 6:1-2 “It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom; and over them three governors, of whom Daniel was one…”
Daniel had an extremely difficult job of managing the empire, and yet he remained faithful, finding time to devote himself to God daily. Daniel 6:10 “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed… he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God.” I learn that it is possible to succeed in work, studies, and daily tasks without neglecting communion with God.
See what it says in Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” When we understand that even our common activities can glorify God, there is no longer a division between life inside and outside the church. We are living witnesses of Christ in every attitude.
We know that the world pressures us to abandon faith, but the Bible instructs us in 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” Just like Daniel, we may face moments of crisis and even persecution, but God is faithful and powerful to keep us. The guidance is: maintain your prayer life and daily Bible reading, and the warning is: do not let yourself be shaped by external pressures. There is hope, for the Lord honors those who remain firm in Him.
