“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” – Romans 10:17

The only way to strengthen our faith is through the Word of God. Reading the Bible draws us closer to God, and He draws closer to us. As Hebrews 1:1 says: “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son…”

God speaks to us through the reading of the Bible and gives us guidance for every area of our lives.

Right after reading your daily chapter—or the portion of the Bible you usually read—take a few moments to reflect on what you have just read and try to understand what God is speaking to you at that moment.

See the instruction given in Psalm 1:1-3: “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”
