My Father Abandoned Me – How Can I Celebrate Father’s Day?
“…Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.” – Isaiah 49:15
We lie, betray, abandon, and act selfishly, ignoring the suffering of others because we are all subject to flaws and mistakes. When we put our faith and hope in human beings, we will surely end up frustrated.
But there is someone worthy of all your trust, faith, and hope. God is the only perfect being, who will never forget us and never abandon us. He is our eternal Father and Creator.
Therefore, on Father’s Day, celebrate and rejoice that God the Father sent His only Son, Jesus, to save you and forgive all your sins, giving you access to eternal life. Even though you are a sinner, and even though you do not deserve it, God – your Father – still grants you this great eternal blessing.
