What Do I Need to Be Definitively Saved?
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8–9
See what the Bible says:
- John 5:24: “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has passed from death to life.”
- Romans 8:1: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
- Ephesians 1:13: “In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.”
The Bible shows that first we hear the Word of truth (the Bible); then this Word produces faith in our hearts so that we believe in Christ; and once we believe, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us and the certainty of salvation that God freely gives us—that is, without merit.
