“… quem resiste à autoridade resiste à ordenação de Deus; e os que resistem trarão sobre si mesmos a condenação.” – Romanos 13:2
Nem sempre vamos concordar com as autoridades, mas a bíblia nos orienta que TODAS foram ordenadas e permitidas por Deus e, que devemos obedecê-las e, inclusive, orar por elas. Mas há uma exceção:
1 – Submeter-se à autoridade – Romanos 13:1 “Toda a alma esteja sujeita às autoridades superiores; porque não há autoridade que não venha de Deus; e as autoridades que há foram ordenadas por Deus.”.
2 – Orar pelas autoridades – 1ª Timóteo 2:1 e 2 “Antes de tudo, recomendo que se façam súplicas, orações, intercessões e ação de graças por todos os homens; pelos reis e por todos os que exercem autoridade, para que tenhamos uma vida tranquila e pacífica, com toda a piedade e dignidade.”.
3 – Única Exceção – A bíblia só traz uma exceção em obedecer a autoridade que é quando somos forçados a fazer algo que a palavra de Deus condena e vemos em Atos 5:29 “… Mais importa obedecer a Deus do que aos homens.”.

Why Obey Authorities if They Are Bad?
“…consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.” – Romans 13:2
We will not always agree with authorities, but the Bible guides us that ALL have been ordained and permitted by God, and that we must obey them and even pray for them. However, there is one exception:
Submitting to Authority – Romans 13:1 “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”
Praying for Authorities – 1 Timothy 2:1-2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
The Only Exception The Bible only provides one exception to obeying authority: when we are forced to do something that the Word of God condemns. We see this in Acts 5:29: “…We must obey God rather than human beings!”
