Lemos na Bíblia em Mateus 10:22
“E odiados de todos sereis por causa do meu nome; mas aquele que perseverar até ao fim, esse será salvo.”
Homens dos quais o mundo não era digno. Os apóstolos de Cristo sofreram perseguições e foram mortos pelo amor da pregação do evangelho. O futuro deles era exatamente este, a morte pela causa da Palavra, este era o destino deles virarem mártires.
Vamos analisar então, o apóstolo João que recebeu a revelação no livro de apocalipse, antes de ser enviado a ilha de Patmos foi colocado em óleo fervente para morrer e não houve dano algum a ele, nem sequer sua pele mudou de cor, após isso foi exilado na ilha de Patmos e lá, recebeu as revelações do livro de apocalipse.
Além dos apóstolos podemos citar outros, como por exemplo Daniel, que foi lançado na fornalha sobremaneira quente para a morte, porém nem sequer o cheiro de lenha queimada ficou sobre suas vestes e, no entanto, os guardas que os foram lançar na fornalha morreram só de chegar perto.
O que me dizer então de José do Egito que após ter sido surrado, vendido como escravo, preso, foi declarado governador do Egito. Temos ainda os exemplos de Pedro e de Paulo que foram presos e logo em seguida soltos da cadeia por anjos.
Entenda que Jesus alertou que por causa da sua Palavra e do Seu Nome eles (discípulos / Cristãos verdadeiros) seriam perseguidos, mas houve vitória, pois apesar de muitos terem morrido de forma horrível, a função para a qual eles foram designados foi cumprida em sua totalidade, ou seja, estes homens mudaram o mundo e o evangelho foi pregado. A prova disso é que nós estamos falando dele agora.
Deus é fiel, a prova disso é que sua Palavra sempre se cumpre. Devemos entender que a morte deles os tornou Mártires e, como tal, a Palavra foi extremamente divulgada entre as massas e o evangelho crescia exponencialmente. Paulo fora preso e chicoteado várias vezes e, isso também colaborou para o crescimento da igreja, em todas as perseguições aumentavam os milagres e o número de cristãos, no sofrimento houve unidade da igreja em oração e comunhão.
Apesar das perseguições nesta vida o que nos espera não pode ser comparado com nenhum problema ou dificuldade que passemos aqui. Em breve estaremos com Cristo.
