A bíblia relata que, tempos mais tarde, Caim peregrinou pela terra de Node e lá se casou. Estudos no campo da geologia e arqueologia indicam que, aproximadamente 500 anos após a morte de Abel, a população terrena já havia se multiplicado sobremaneira entrando em sua sétima geração. Neste momento a humanidade já povoava um território que se alargava até mesmo depois dos termos da terra de Node, para aonde Caim se exilou. Caim tomou para si uma esposa que, em escala de parentesco, seria sua sobrinha-tetra neta.
Vale lembrar que Adão viveu 800 anos e que gerou “Sete” com 130 anos, ou seja, passaram-se ainda 670 anos debaixo da ordenança do “Crescei-vos e multiplicai-vos” e Adão e Eva continuaram tendo filhos e filhas. Naquela época a relação sexual entre irmãos era permitida por Deus. Neste tempo não haviam patologias consanguíneas resultantes do incesto, por isso existiam normalmente casamentos dentro do núcleo familiar inclusive, algo muito comum em famílias judaicas mais tradicionais ainda nos dias de hoje.
Antigamente era necessário que um animal fosse sacrificado para que os pecados de toda uma nação fossem perdoados. Depois de Jesus Cristo não houve mais esta necessidade de se sacrificar animal algum, o sacrifício de Cristo serviu para toda a humanidade. Isso não significa inconstância como alguns pensam e sim “MISERICÓRDIA”.
